Lucas Corley (2009) – Lucas is currently taking the radio & TV class offered at Floyd Central High School. He made his radio debut on 88.1 WNAS Floyd Central during the Columbus East football game on Friday, September 25, 2009. He was responsible for reading the names of the sponsors during commercial breaks, however, late in the game he was able to call a portion of the game and do color commentary. Lucas’ 8th grade class voted him most likely to become a radio or TV broadcaster.
Chelsea Zoeller (2004), was accepted to IUPUI Nursing School and will begin classes January 2010.
KEVIN PATRICK SPELLMAN (Class of 2005) Kevin is a May 2009 graduate of Notre Dame High School (NDHS) located in Chattanooga,TN. Kevin will be attending the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he has been awarded one of fifty University of Tennessee Chancellor’s Honors Scholarships, the UT Engineering Department Scholarship and the Tennessee Hope Scholarship. He is enrolled in the Chancellor’s Honors Engineering Program majoring in Chemical Engineering with hopes of pursuing a medical degree in the future. Kevin graduated from NDHS with a 4.5 G.P.A. In addition to the University of Tennessee scholarships, Kevin was named a Purdue University Trustee Scholar with a four-year scholarship and was accepted into the University of Georgia Honors Program.
As a senior at Notre Dame High School, Kevin was a member of the National Honor Society, one of twenty-five football players from Tennessee to be awarded the National Football Foundation-College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award, the Notre Dame Scholar-Athlete Award, the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award, and the AP Biology and Honors Economics Award. His classmates voted Kevin “Most Likely to Succeed.” During his time at Notre Dame, Kevin volunteered over 100 hours of community service and earned the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Award. He was a four-year member of the varsity football team and received the Coaches Award his senior season. Kevin also participated in varsity Lacrosse and served on the NDHS Student Leadership Council for four years. He was nominated by his school and served as a member of Youth Leadership Chattanooga, as a delegate to the 2008 Tennessee Boys State where he was one of three delegates placed in nomination for Governor. He was also nominated and attended the Tennessee Governor’s School for Science and Engineering during the summer 2008 where he was enrolled in Physics and Logic courses. Kevin was also the recipient of the Bausch & Lomb Award for Excellence in Science.
Other activities in which Kevin participated include the NDHS Chess Club, the NDHS Young Republicans, and the NDHS Foreign Language Club. He was a member of the NDHS Toss-Up team serving as captain his senior year and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honorary serving as vice president his senior year. He also served as a peer tutor and is a Eucharistic minister and member of the St. Augustine Parish and the St. Augustine Youth Group.
Kevin previously worked at Signal Mountain Country Club and recently earned his life-guarding certification and is employed as a lifeguard at the Chattanooga Country Club and Signal Mountain Pool.
Chelsea Koebel and Darin Habermel (Class of 2005) – Chelsea and Darin will be the 2009 Providence Valedictorian and Salutatorian.
Devin Childers (Class of 2004) – Devin will appear in the Spring/Summer Calvin Klein catalog.
Britney and Courtney Frieberger (Class of 2001) – Britney and Courtney were both accepted into Northwestern University’s Physical Therapy School
Beau Zoeller (Class of 2000) – Beau was accepted into Indiana University’s School of Law at Indianapolis.
Johnny Brinkworth ‘97, was recently named Science Department Head of Stuart Middle School in Louisville, KY, where he teaches 6th grade science. Johnny married Dr. Anna (Wahl) Brinkworth ‘97 last summer, who is a Physical Therapist at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Julie Black Hallal (Class of 1985) -Julie married Jared Hallal (HFS class of 1986) in 1998. They have two daughters who also go to Holy Family. She has been teaching kindergarten at Holy Family since 2001.
Marcy Cobb Wilson (Class of 1980)- Coordinating the Virtual Tour Project for Holy Family
